Lake Breeze Section 54 Shiraz
The Follett family have been grape growers on the famed Bremer flood plain at Langhorne Creek for over 130 years.
Grapes from our old vines were nurtured in small open fermenters before maturing in French oak for 15 months.
This has helped to create a rich, velvety textured wine which shows a lifted floral bouquet with elements of spice, dark berries and chocolate. Enjoy now with a charcuterie board or can be cellared with confidence for up to 10 years.
The estate vineyard is mainly on the flood plain, some younger plantings on higher sandy soils; smart machine-harvested for whole-berry fermentation; 2-day cold soak, 7-day fermentation; matured in French barriques (25% new) for 15 months. This is a wonderfully elegant wine with a profusion of red and black berry fruits sustained by its silky mouthfeel, fine tannins a constant thrumming on the finish and aftertaste. 97/100. James Halliday, published 16 May 2022.
